ELECTRIC PRINCE

Age: 23 Years Old (February 5, 2003)
Height: 15.3hh
Suitability: Light Riding / Companion

Prince is a handsome gelding whose owners are helping him look for a new home as they make the difficult decision to downsize their herd. He has been well cared for and is currently turned out with another gelding, Bob, who he is closely bonded to. While Prince could be adopted on his own, his owners would love to see him placed with Bob if the right home comes along. Prince is barefoot, easy to keep, and does well on a simple diet of hay and grain. In the herd he sits lower on the pecking order and settles best with a consistent routine.

Prince has been ridden a handful of times and was sensible, but he is not suitable for beginners or children at this stage. He can be a bit quirky at times, though he is safe to handle and generally well mannered with adults who are comfortable with horses. He would be best suited for a companion home or a very casual riding situation with someone experienced who enjoys taking things slow. Prince is a sweet horse with a lot to offer the right person, especially someone who values personality, partnership, and giving a horse a wonderful retirement home.

CACE

Age: 20 Years Old
Height: 15.2hh approx.
Suitability: Companion

Cace’s story has been one of resilience and care. After being abandoned by his previous home, he entered our foster program in February thanks to the kindness of a good Samaritan who kept him safe until we could step in.

When he first arrived, Cace was underweight and frail, but with time, nutrition, and dedicated foster care, he began to thrive again. He is believed to be around 19–20 years old, with a healthy heart and lungs, and teeth that are holding up well for his age.

Unfortunately, further veterinary evaluations and X-rays have revealed significant cartilage loss in his hocks. This causes him ongoing discomfort, particularly when asked to lift his legs for trims or cleaning. Because of this, Cace will not be available for adoption.

For now, his daily care includes careful pain management, close monitoring, and plenty of comfort in his foster home. Cace’s journey reminds us that sometimes our role is not to rehome, but to ensure these horses receive the best quality of life for as long as possible. We are grateful for everyone who has supported Cace and will continue to share updates as he enjoys his days in the safety and kindness he deserves.
